Black Dog
Led Zeppelin Cover
Sometimes you just turn it up, pour the champagne, and let it rip.

In a spirited late-night session fueled by longtime friendship and a little celebratory sparkle, Liz Larin stepped up to the mic to record a cover of Black Dog by Led Zeppelin — and what followed was pure, unapologetic rock energy.

Produced by Mark Miller and Julie Anna Jones, both longtime friends and collaborators, the track captures the electricity of musicians who know each other well enough to take risks and simply have fun. The groove hits hard. The band locks in. And Liz? She leans all the way into her rock roots.

This performance is a reminder of why she was once dubbed Detroit’s “Goddess of Rock,” earning over 41 Detroit Music Awards in a city that has birthed some of the edgiest rock and electronic music on the planet. Her vocal is gritty, powerful, playful — commanding without trying too hard. She doesn’t just sing the song; she owns her version of it.

It’s bold. It’s loud. It’s a little wild.

And it proves something important: not every session has to be cinematic and conceptual. Sometimes rock and roll is about great friends, great players, and the joy of making noise together.
