Invinity
Infinity (Divinity + Infinite) is a deeply personal and artistically expansive collaboration between world-renowned guitarist Robert Tye and producer/composer Liz Larin.

Robert Tye is widely regarded as a true “musician’s musician” — an artist respected not only for his virtuosity, but for his rare versatility. A former guitarist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, founding member of the esteemed contemporary ensemble New Music Detroit, and longtime guitarist with The Lion King for 16 years, Tye has built a career defined by excellence across classical, jazz, contemporary, and studio performance. His acclaimed jazz recordings, Virtues of the Well and Living, further showcase his depth as a composer and improviser. For decades, he has been a first-call studio guitarist, trusted for his ability to serve the music at the highest level in virtually any style.

Infinity emerged from a creative invitation. Liz Larin, a longtime friend who first met Tye as a teenager while working in a music store, encouraged him to step further into his experimental ambient guitar language — a side of his artistry rarely documented. The project reveals a more atmospheric, textural dimension of Tye’s playing: spacious, meditative, and emotionally resonant.

Larin wrote and produced the music around his ambient guitar explorations, building immersive sonic environments that allow his tone and phrasing to unfold organically. The result is a meeting of two deeply attuned musical minds — grounded in decades of mutual respect — blending ambient guitar, cinematic production, and spiritual undertones into something quietly powerful.

Infinity stands as a testament not only to Tye’s extraordinary range as a guitarist, but to a lifelong artistic friendship built on trust, reverence, and shared musical curiosity.
